Hi there! I’m Ted Bjerke, a math tutor who’s passionate about helping students build confidence and truly understand what they’re learning. I believe math isn’t just about numbers it’s about thinking creatively, solving problems, and discovering new ways to see the world. My goal is to make math approachable, whether you’re catching up, getting ahead, or simply trying to feel more confident in class.
Experience
With several years of experience teaching and tutoring students from middle school through college, I’ve helped learners of all backgrounds develop a stronger understanding and appreciation for math. My teaching style focuses on patience, clear explanations, and building confidence through consistent progress. I’ve supported students in subjects ranging from basic algebra to advanced calculus, as well as in standardized test preparation for exams like the SAT, ACT, and AP Calculus. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, my goal is always the same, to make math understandable, manageable, and even enjoyable.
The Homestead
When I’m not teaching math, I love spending time with my family on my little homestead, where we raise chickens, tend to our gardens, and even grow worms for composting. Homesteading has taught me a lot about patience, problem solving, and the rewards of steady effort, skills that carry over perfectly into learning (and teaching!) math. Whether I’m helping plants, animals, or students grow, I find joy in watching progress take root over time.
